Effective and comfortable blood sampling.

  1. Guide step 1

    Wash hands with soap and warm water, rubbing vigorously to increase circulation, for a better sample.

    Dry hands thoroughly.

  2. Guide step 2

    Use a fresh lancet, or a single use device, for every sample. Used lancets increase the risk of infection, and become blunt surprisingly quickly, increasing discomfort and the risk of bruising and scarring.

  3. Guide step 3

    Choose a sample site on the outer edge of one finger, but try to avoid the index finger or thumb. Place the sampling device’s platform against the finger and take the sample.

    Always choose a different finger each time to avoid soreness.

  4. Guide step 4

    Wait a moment to allow the blood to flow freely. If necessary, squeeze from the palm/hand, and not just from the fingertip, to aid the blood flow to the finger and help form the drop of blood.

    Then apply the blood drop to the test strip.
